About Me

Hans was a busy, happy, sweet and fearless three year old when he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. He fought his disease like a "gladiator" for nearly 6 years. Hans was an animal lover to his core. He was 'guarded' at home by his three cats, Black, Orange and Cotton. He also had his Golden Retriever, Honey, to keep him company. Hans enjoyed swimming, biking, gardening, grilling (he had his very own grill!), horseback riding, playing video games, building Legos, and flipping between Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Animal Planet. Hans loved all members of his family and he was a loyal friend. He had to go through a lot of treatment in his life. But Hans powered through it. His attitude was let's get this done! His motivation was always to get back home, to his family, pets, favorite foods and pool.

Kev and Elle headed South today for a nice hike in Towsley Canyon. Hans and I stayed back due to the fact that Hans wouldn't be able to keep up with the mileage or altitude climb, but it's good that these two got out. We continue to have fun, hoping that somehow the good times will contiue to roll. Hans has scans Tuesday and Wednesday. Stable or better scans will likely come with a recommendation for a final MIBG therapy as early as the following week. I like what our doctor said when she saw him two weeks ago... He hasn't had any other therapy since before Christmas. If MIBG wasn't working, we'd likely be seeing something pop up!

I will try to update you on Wednesday night! Hope everyone gets to enjoy a three (or four) day weekend like us, glorious!

I'm in agreement with the doc on Hans, but I'm also mesmerized by your photo of Elle and Kev. How tall is Elle now?

VB - I think it's the slope. Elle is just a bit taller than me now, but Kev has a good 7 inches or so on her... :)
