About Me

Hans was a busy, happy, sweet and fearless three year old when he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. He fought his disease like a "gladiator" for nearly 6 years. Hans was an animal lover to his core. He was 'guarded' at home by his three cats, Black, Orange and Cotton. He also had his Golden Retriever, Honey, to keep him company. Hans enjoyed swimming, biking, gardening, grilling (he had his very own grill!), horseback riding, playing video games, building Legos, and flipping between Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Animal Planet. Hans loved all members of his family and he was a loyal friend. He had to go through a lot of treatment in his life. But Hans powered through it. His attitude was let's get this done! His motivation was always to get back home, to his family, pets, favorite foods and pool.

Beach

We had a great day at the beach yesterday...all of us! We found out Hans is an excellent boogie boarder. We couldn't believe how far he could ride a wave! I think it must be because he has a light body weight, but the hand-eye coordination of a much bigger boy. He was a real pro. And, he didn't complain once about being pummeled by waves and salt water. What a way to spend Earth Day:) We have avoided 'natural bodies of water' for Hans for almost two years now because he had his port in. Then, we've gathered information that he should really be okay. So, we took the risk and took the plunge and had a blast. It's nice to live a little. Hans has always been a water dog, so I am very thankful and grateful to be able to throw him into the Bay! We only live about 80 miles from Galveston Island, may as well be taking advantage of it.

We got off the hook again for counts today because Tuesday's looked so great. Sweet!
We'll bring him in for an Office Visit next Tuesday and get all checked out to start Round 7 of the Millennium.

I forgot to mention that my mom and I held a lanyard workshop in Houston on Tuesday night. Thank you Jessica, for setting up this neat event. It was my first Spanish-speaking workshop. I was glad to have a translator!

I'll post more later - but I wanted to get up a few pics.
