Today our little friend, Serenity, is going through her third and final Bone Marrow Transplant. She is an amazing little girl with a lot of spunk. She has managed to befriend and endear herself to every single soul on the BMT Unit. She has been taken care of by the nicest lady in the world, Leigh Ann, who has become her legal guardian and is out on FMLA to get Serenity through this tough step. She has leukemia and her marrow is hard to match, so she will be using cord blood today. Thank you for saying an extra prayer for this little girl today. (Expecting Mamas: Donating cord blood can save lives!)
Other NB kiddo updates: Our friend Patrick gets to return home to Lake Charles, LA now, and just come back to Houston for weekly check ups! I am praying that they will still see improvement in his hearing. Carlie and Will continue to do well, and Roman is doing his Radiation Treatment. Another little girl, Chloe, was expected to undergo a 12-16 hour surgery several weeks ago, but it was complete in just three hours! If you're available - save the date of July 14th for a big fundraiser for her family. Their insurance will cover only 300K of the estimated 700K cost of transplant. It's in Webester, TX!
About Me
- Hans Weberling
- Bakersfield, CA, United States
- Hans was a busy, happy, sweet and fearless three year old when he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. He fought his disease like a "gladiator" for nearly 6 years. Hans was an animal lover to his core. He was 'guarded' at home by his three cats, Black, Orange and Cotton. He also had his Golden Retriever, Honey, to keep him company. Hans enjoyed swimming, biking, gardening, grilling (he had his very own grill!), horseback riding, playing video games, building Legos, and flipping between Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Animal Planet. Hans loved all members of his family and he was a loyal friend. He had to go through a lot of treatment in his life. But Hans powered through it. His attitude was let's get this done! His motivation was always to get back home, to his family, pets, favorite foods and pool.

Little 2 year old Serenity has a special way of making every person on the 9th floor want to be part her extended family. She has so much strength that I have faith that, with prayers and God's help, her BMT will be successful this time!
