About Me

Hans was a busy, happy, sweet and fearless three year old when he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. He fought his disease like a "gladiator" for nearly 6 years. Hans was an animal lover to his core. He was 'guarded' at home by his three cats, Black, Orange and Cotton. He also had his Golden Retriever, Honey, to keep him company. Hans enjoyed swimming, biking, gardening, grilling (he had his very own grill!), horseback riding, playing video games, building Legos, and flipping between Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Animal Planet. Hans loved all members of his family and he was a loyal friend. He had to go through a lot of treatment in his life. But Hans powered through it. His attitude was let's get this done! His motivation was always to get back home, to his family, pets, favorite foods and pool.

More Good News

Hi there, we got more good news! Scans look good -- stable or slightly improved. It's great and fabulous and wonderful and we will gratefully take it!!! Dr. Mosse compared our first positive scan from 12/09 to this scan. I guess there is a big, good difference b/w the first and the current scan. But, the differences are hard to quantify at these frequent 6 week intervals, so that's why our reports are seemingly ambiguous each time. The good news is: there is still just one small spot on Hans' skull bones (not in the brain). It's just one spot and it has gotten smaller and has lessened in intensity on the MIBG from a year ago. I am always hoping we'll hear it's gone. But, we can be patient!

Hans and Kevin went this trip alone, at the last minute I decided to stay at home with Elle and her hurt neck! (She's starting to feel a little better.) The guys are on their way home and Hans starts Round, what... 20 tonight. They got to have some fun with our friends out there - the Tennesons, and hit their favorite restaurants....

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers for Hans and all of the children in the fight.

Lara

I love these great news posts :) I'm betting the guys had good food and a fun guy-time. Hans needs to eat lots of meat to keep up with the massage demand at home. Elle is so awesome - get Grandma Kathy to send some muscle rub from "Purity Soaps"!

Love Aunt Holly and Uncle Michael

This IS the best of news!!! WHOO HOO!

It is a bonus to be able to share great food with friends, too!

Oh, Elle...so sorry about the sore neck! I agree with Aunt Holly! Make that trip to the butcher shop for Hans' favorite protein so he can massage away!

Nice to have girl and guy time!

Love and hugs,
