About Me
- Hans Weberling
- Bakersfield, CA, United States
- Hans was a busy, happy, sweet and fearless three year old when he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. He fought his disease like a "gladiator" for nearly 6 years. Hans was an animal lover to his core. He was 'guarded' at home by his three cats, Black, Orange and Cotton. He also had his Golden Retriever, Honey, to keep him company. Hans enjoyed swimming, biking, gardening, grilling (he had his very own grill!), horseback riding, playing video games, building Legos, and flipping between Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Animal Planet. Hans loved all members of his family and he was a loyal friend. He had to go through a lot of treatment in his life. But Hans powered through it. His attitude was let's get this done! His motivation was always to get back home, to his family, pets, favorite foods and pool.

Reception
Elle and I were able to attend a DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) reception yesterday in Conroe. Elle's teacher had given her students an assignment that then became an entry in a local competition. Elle's poem took first place in the Chapter (and won $10:) and went on to State Competition. It was neat to see the folks all dressed up in revolutionary war garb!
She allowed me to copy here. The theme of the contest was - American, Land of the Free, Home of the Brave. She wrote her entry about FDNY/9-11. (I couldn't capture the whole thing, but she did add they as the second word in the last line, and she decorated the page as one of the towers.
Hans has started drinking more water. This is good.
We ran around like crazy yesterday, and now are looking forward to a day of relaxing, running errands and eating well! We had to replace our grill, so Kevin picked one out, put it together and has been cooking anything anyone asks. It even has one of those side burners so he can cook 'smelly' things like bacon on it. That's what we're up to. Day 4 of Millennium is going well. I was thrilled to take Friday off clinic since our NP said a CBC wouldn't be necessary with such gorgeous counts on Tuesday.

Fabulous photo and poem, Miss Elle...congratulations! I recently judged an essay contest for DAR! Great project for young writers!
WATER is simple the BEST, Hans! Wish I could send you some of ours...fresh from the mountains!
Kevin...I never think of grills alone...they are always paired with bears HERE! I don't imagine you have and bears wandering through the Woodlands...keep your eyes "peeled" Hans!
Glad everyone is enjoying spring!
Love and hugs,
Aunt Susy
She let you post it!
Elle - we're so proud of you! Super job!! I think it could easily apply to '911' and the great help they have provided for Hans too.
I love the pictures. Good to know things are progressing on a more even keel lately.
Elle-how are the new clubs? Ready to go golfing again with G.Dale and the guys and show em a thing or two?
Love and Hugs,
G.Kathy & G.Dale XOXO
Love your poem Elle! I remember that day and I think you captured it!
And I can't wait until I get to The Woodlands to have a swinging contest with Hans at the park!!!
Love,
G'ma Stephanie
