About Me

Hans was a busy, happy, sweet and fearless three year old when he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. He fought his disease like a "gladiator" for nearly 6 years. Hans was an animal lover to his core. He was 'guarded' at home by his three cats, Black, Orange and Cotton. He also had his Golden Retriever, Honey, to keep him company. Hans enjoyed swimming, biking, gardening, grilling (he had his very own grill!), horseback riding, playing video games, building Legos, and flipping between Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Animal Planet. Hans loved all members of his family and he was a loyal friend. He had to go through a lot of treatment in his life. But Hans powered through it. His attitude was let's get this done! His motivation was always to get back home, to his family, pets, favorite foods and pool.

Who wants to take a survey???

Just a quick post today! My friend Vickie has put together a survey on Survey Monkey cut and paste to check it out: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=yGa1bnjg_2f3jM52TcSJgKng_3d_3d She is working with her Congressman Chet Edwards on making recommendations to health care policy changes. She is specifically focusing on the needs of the family with an ill child. So, please go ahead and check it out! I think Erin would be so proud of her mom. I often have this image of Erin leaning down from above to give high fives for things she approves of!

Things are a little wacky this week. Hans sustained a very MINOR toe injury (I am pretty sure he scraped it on a diving board at Alex's pool party on Saturday). Bandaid only required. And now, he is being rather unreasonable about going swimming. Which is a little nutty in this record heat - it was really just about all I had cooked up for the kids this week! Ah well. He should be all patched up by the time we get back from Philly...

Thanks for doing the survey, if it applies to your situation.

Thanks so much for posting the link to surveymonkey! I don't know whether it breaks rules to ask for people to fill out questionnaires on N-BLAST, but I would love the expanded pool of potential answers. Do you know?

Sorry about Hans and his pool booboo. Stubbornness is something that can help him during treatment and is a very good adult quality, too. I think we call it persistent or adamant. Sometimes when we want cooperation we forget what a good trait stubbornness can actually be.

Would you, pretty please, change Chet's designation from "state representative" to "Congressman?"
