This is kind of fun!
Hans and Kevin were asked by Elizabeth Garcia of the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center to join her on the local talk show "Great Day Houston" with Deborah Duncan about the importance of giving blood on a year-round basis - it was pretty cute! I'm proud of my guys. We think it's important to help get the word out about this subject. We can't count how many transfusions Hans has had. (Chemo kills the fast-dividing cells, like hair, blood and tumor cells. That's why cancer patients need to receive transfusions so frequently during treatment.)

- Hans was a busy, happy, sweet and fearless three year old when he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. He fought his disease like a "gladiator" for nearly 6 years. Hans was an animal lover to his core. He was 'guarded' at home by his three cats, Black, Orange and Cotton. He also had his Golden Retriever, Honey, to keep him company. Hans enjoyed swimming, biking, gardening, grilling (he had his very own grill!), horseback riding, playing video games, building Legos, and flipping between Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Animal Planet. Hans loved all members of his family and he was a loyal friend. He had to go through a lot of treatment in his life. But Hans powered through it. His attitude was let's get this done! His motivation was always to get back home, to his family, pets, favorite foods and pool.

Kevin and Hans - Awesome job on TV. Very cool! I'm going to send the video clip to my coworkers, so I hope it's up for awhile. My agency gives 4 hrs every 2 mos. for Blood Donation Leave - paid leave for donating blood - so I'm going to show those donors how essential and valuable it is!
Lara - I got the lanyards today! They're beautiful, and I know the people who have already signed up to buy will LOVE them!

Happy 10th Birthday Elle! We wish you all were still here so we could celebrate your birthday in Scottsdale! But even more I am glad that you were able to be at home with your daddy to celebrate. Wow, Hans and Kevin did an awesome job on tv! God sure put some majorcute on Hans! We miss you! It is too quiet at our house without you!
