- Hans was a busy, happy, sweet and fearless three year old when he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. He fought his disease like a "gladiator" for nearly 6 years. Hans was an animal lover to his core. He was 'guarded' at home by his three cats, Black, Orange and Cotton. He also had his Golden Retriever, Honey, to keep him company. Hans enjoyed swimming, biking, gardening, grilling (he had his very own grill!), horseback riding, playing video games, building Legos, and flipping between Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Animal Planet. Hans loved all members of his family and he was a loyal friend. He had to go through a lot of treatment in his life. But Hans powered through it. His attitude was let's get this done! His motivation was always to get back home, to his family, pets, favorite foods and pool.

Also - Erin, from your comment a couple days back - there's a few kids with a lot of ornaments - check out Carlie Edgington's tree - she's doing awesome with her campaign as well. Hans' tree just hit 2000 ornaments! Thanks to all of you who have been moved to give. We appreciate every single donation!

What a terrific picture and news article of the kids! I hope it raises the awareness in The Woodlands community of the plight of these kids, the need for more research into the cause of their cancer, and funding for pediatric cancer.
Hans' tree looks great! And I also had noticed that Carlie and a few others are filling their trees with ornaments. It is heartwarming to see how generous people can be.

I am glad you found a way to post the picture and remind us all of the little lives this disease has changed.
I know when you look at the list of names with Lunch for Life Giving Trees it appears that so much more must have already being given - but I have randonly clicked on many and, I think, the majority do not have one ornament yet! That is sad!
So those who can need to think about doing a little more!!!

Hans, your tree looks awesome! Thank You to all that have donated!Instead of exchanging gifts this year,grandma Kathy and I will be making a donation to lunch for life.Hopefully we all can put a bunch more ornaments on Han's tree.When we all look around, we do have a lot to be thankful for! grandpa Dale
Hi!!! Your tree looks great Hans! You lots of people who love you! Thanks Lara for posting the photos,I love to see those happy faces. Elle, you have a great group of girls in your Troop, I know you are an inspiration. I see all of you in your shirt sleeves and I'm jealous, it's cold and wet here. I pray that we would all do without "stuff" this Christmas and remember the little ones who need our help so much. Love, Cindy

Thanks for everyone's encouragement - A couple other great giving trees are Erin Beunger and Sydney Dungan. They are both TCH families - feel free to put an ornament up on their trees too! If I have my story straight, I think Mark Dungan, Sydney's Daddy, ia the one who started Lunch for Life...
