About Me

My photo
Bakersfield, CA, United States
Hans was a busy, happy, sweet and fearless three year old when he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. He fought his disease like a "gladiator" for nearly 6 years. Hans was an animal lover to his core. He was 'guarded' at home by his three cats, Black, Orange and Cotton. He also had his Golden Retriever, Honey, to keep him company. Hans enjoyed swimming, biking, gardening, grilling (he had his very own grill!), horseback riding, playing video games, building Legos, and flipping between Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Animal Planet. Hans loved all members of his family and he was a loyal friend. He had to go through a lot of treatment in his life. But Hans powered through it. His attitude was let's get this done! His motivation was always to get back home, to his family, pets, favorite foods and pool.

Doctors Think Hans Has Turned a Corner...

That's what the doctor said last night, that Hans has turned a corner! He is actually looking pretty good right now. They turned up his morphine this morning, and as we speak he is coloring for the first time in days and days! He still needs oxygen, but he's okay! He hasn't had fever in days. I forgot to mention that he does have an ANC. Yesterday it was 150, and today it is 980. That's great - the GCSF is doing the trick. Dr. Krance just told us that if all goes well, and he gets off antibiotics and starts taking a couple of medications orally, he'll be home by this time next week. Whoo hoo!

Have a good weekend.

Lara

HI,
I just wanted to tell you that I admire you all!! I send my thoughts and prayers of support to you. I originally received the news of Hans from the St. Anne's Society and follow the website regularly. I am soooooo happy to hear the good news!! I know the Blessed Mother must be there comforting you and giving you strength through all of this. May the Lord continue to bless little Hans and make him stronger every day. What a trooper!! Sending a big hug and lots of positive energy.
