About Me

Hans was a busy, happy, sweet and fearless three year old when he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. He fought his disease like a "gladiator" for nearly 6 years. Hans was an animal lover to his core. He was 'guarded' at home by his three cats, Black, Orange and Cotton. He also had his Golden Retriever, Honey, to keep him company. Hans enjoyed swimming, biking, gardening, grilling (he had his very own grill!), horseback riding, playing video games, building Legos, and flipping between Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Animal Planet. Hans loved all members of his family and he was a loyal friend. He had to go through a lot of treatment in his life. But Hans powered through it. His attitude was let's get this done! His motivation was always to get back home, to his family, pets, favorite foods and pool.

MIBG and Bone Scan NORMAL!

We got the good news yesterday that Hans' Bone Scan and MIBG are normal. Yesterday Hans was a really good sport for the CT Scan (and for getting red blood cells as well)!

We're about half way there with the scans. We still have to do the echocardiogram, give the audiogram another shot, and complete the Bone Marrow Aspiration. We had a dental appointment on Thursday and found out that Hans does need a couple of fillings before going through the Bone Marrow Transplant. The good thing is that they are able to do the Bone Marrow Aspiration while Hans is sedated for his Oral Surgery.

Hans' Radiation starts on Monday. We have an early appointment, 7:15 am, so we'll be sure to beat much of the traffic. The plan is to go in for counts twice next week, then we may be able to cut it down to once a week.

Kevin and Elle have been working on an "All About Pediatric Cancer" Poster Presentaion for Conroe ISD's Science Fair today at Montgomery College. If you're going to be there, look for Elle's poster at 3 pm in the Glen Loch Elementary area.

Have a good weekend. We're thrilled to be staying home for two days!
