About Me

Hans was a busy, happy, sweet and fearless three year old when he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. He fought his disease like a "gladiator" for nearly 6 years. Hans was an animal lover to his core. He was 'guarded' at home by his three cats, Black, Orange and Cotton. He also had his Golden Retriever, Honey, to keep him company. Hans enjoyed swimming, biking, gardening, grilling (he had his very own grill!), horseback riding, playing video games, building Legos, and flipping between Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Animal Planet. Hans loved all members of his family and he was a loyal friend. He had to go through a lot of treatment in his life. But Hans powered through it. His attitude was let's get this done! His motivation was always to get back home, to his family, pets, favorite foods and pool.

Chemo is Complete

Hi everyone,
Sorry we haven't posted any news in a couple of days. The good news is that they were able to identify the type of infection right away and the antibiotics worked very very quickly. Hans just had to wait until his blood cultures were infection free for 72 hours before starting chemo. He was able to start his chemo on Wednesday. It's a three day chemo cylce, so they just keep us for 24 hours of hydration afterwards, and then he gets a shot of newlasta to promote blood cell growth and we're on our way home tomorrow! It will have been something like 19 days already! We never aniticipated this stay to be quite so long. What we've learned, though, is that Hans is really the comeback kid. He beat pneumonia and the line infection like a true champ. We're all looking forward to spending our first weekend out of the ICU!!! Hans is always happy to go home to his kitties (we have three! Cotton, Orange and Black), and Kevin's happy to be home for Superbowl Sunday. Hans is eating pretty well - so Kevin's gonna try to fatten him up with some game food.
Thanks to everyone for their prayers, notes, cards, calls and thoughts!
With Love, Lara

Wonderful, fantastic news! Congratulations Weberlings for staying strong through the fight. During that roller-coaster week, you guys pulled hard for your kids and for each other. God is watching over you guys --- and we are here for you as well. We'll connect this week, enjoy the peacefulness (Superbowl, yeah right?!) of your home this Sunday.

Hugs & Kisses - Kyle, Kelly Taylor & Blaze
